Design A Mosaic ensures our photo mosaics are the highest quality from their ultra-high resolution creation to their professional quality printing. Furthermore, all of our photo mosaics include a free digital preview and a chance to make unlimited revisions before they are printed.

We optimize the size of the cell images specifically for your photo mosaic. Depending on the size of the photo mosaic you order and the nature of your background image, the optimal number of cell images generally changes. We choose a suggested cell size and after you receive your digital preview we will be happy to increase or decrease the size of the cell images based on your preference.

In order to offer maximum exposure to the background image as well as ensuring the cell images are easily viewable, we vary the level of shading throughout the mosaic. Areas such as human faces are made easier to be seen, and areas such as trees in the background are used to display cell images more prominently. If you are unhappy with this effect we will be happy to alter the level of cell shading in your mosaic after you receive your digital preview.

When creating your photo mosaic we use nothing but ultra high resolution image files. In fact, the final mosaic is so detailed the image sent to our printers is generally 10-40 megabytes, even when compressed.

Our photo mosaics are printed from an HP Z6100 printer, with Vivera archival inks on HP Premium Photographic Satin Paper. HP states that the archival satin will last 150+ years indoors.
